Pink Up Ballan 2026, a month of great events for the McGrath Foundation
Ballan is turning pink this October, with a month of community events, activities and fundraising in support of the McGrath Foundation and its Cancer Care Nurses.
Pink Up Ballan brings together local businesses, sporting clubs, community groups, artists, volunteers and residents for a colourful month-long program designed to raise funds, raise awareness and bring the community together for an important cause.
An initiative of the Ballan Autumn Festival Association and the Ballan & District Chamber of Commerce, Pink Up Ballan will see events taking place across the town throughout October – from markets, exhibitions and community activities to a fashion show, ladies’ night, cricket match and the major Pink Ball on 24 October.
Local businesses and organisations will also be finding their own ways to join in, with decorations, fundraising activities and plenty of pink appearing around Ballan.

The McGrath Foundation is an Australian charity founded in 2005 by cricketer Glenn McGrath and his wife Jane after her breast cancer diagnosis.
It funds specialist nurses who provide free clinical, emotional, and physical support to individuals and families navigating cancer. Originally focused on breast cancer, the foundation expanded to support all types of cancer.

Pink Up Ballan 2026 marks the return of an idea that captured Ballan’s imagination in 2019, when businesses, community organisations and residents across Ballan and the surrounding district embraced the original Pink Up Ballan campaign.
Events, merchandise, fundraising tins, art and even pink decorations around town helped turn the campaign into a genuine whole-of-community effort, raising over $28,000 for the McGrath Foundation.
