Lerderderg State Park for camping, swimming and wildlife

Covering 20,546 hectares and stretching some 20 km between Bacchus Marsh and Blackwood, Lerderderg State Park offers several tracks, camping, swimming, rock-climbing, fishing and scenic driving.

The Lerderderg River Gorge divides the park in two from O'Briens Crossing in the north to Mackenzies Flat in the south, and the area is known for its plentiful wildlife, including kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, echidnas, wedge-tailed eagles and cockatoos.

Visit in late winter or early spring to experience vibrant displays of wildflowers in bloom set against the open native forests.

Bring the family and enjoy a barbecue by the river then take a gentle stroll upstream to Grahams Dam, or set up camp at the popular Lerderderg Campground.
