Now in its 125th year, the Blackwood Woodchop and Easter Carnival offers a great family day out set against the gorgeous backdrop of the village of Blackwood.

The Carnival kicks off with the traditional street parade, followed by a woodchop and music, plus gumboot throwing, a pet show, a treasure hunt, kids’ novelty games and races, face-painting, tug-o-war, market stalls, delicious eats and licensed bars.

The Carnival features one of the oldest woodchopping competitions in the state with incredible music throughout the day, and it all takes place at the beautiful Blackwood Recreation Reserve, “the prettiest sportsground in Victoria”. More
