The Border Inn was established back in 1850 and with over a century and a half of rich history, it has become a treasured local landmark to generations of Bacchus Marsh locals.
Most recently it was known as the Irish themed and music-driven “Flanagan’s”, which closed in July 2024.
But now it’s back as The Border Inn, and what a welcome return. It’s in the hands of the Makin family, who have also worked wonders with Ballan’s Commercial Hotel and the Telegraph Hotel in Gisborne, and with a fresh makeover and menu, the Border Inn is an instant classic.
The new menu covers the expected pub fare - parma, steaks, burgers - albeit delivered with a modern flourish, and you’ll also find delicious surprises such as Coq au Vin and a hearty Seafood Chowder on offer. Serves are already large, but you can choose from an array of sides for just $6 each.
The new team are also planning regular live music, so watch our Events page for upcoming dates.
