31st Annual Australian Gold Panning Championships 2026

Calling all panners: show your skills at the 31st Annual Australian Gold Panning Championships at Blackwood Reserve.

Panning Categories include:

  • Eureka Challenge (open category where panners use a supplied steel pan)

  • Men's Skilled (open category and any pan type within set size limits)

  • Women's Skilled (open category and any pan type within set size limits)
    Veterans 65+ years (times recorded in the Eureka event will qualify a veteran for the Veterans Final)

  • Novice (for beginner panners or those with low skill level)

  • Juniors (U12) - under 12 yrs of age at the date of competition

  • Youths (U16) - under 16 yrs of age at the date of competition

  • Teams (A team consisting of 3 individual panners)

  • Batea (traditional European metal pan)

Finals between the fastest recorded heat times will be conducted for Men's and Women's Skilled and the Eureka Challenge.

Get in early to purchase 'Stake your Claim' $5 and $10 event tickets before they sell out. Entrants peg out a section of ground for the chance to win one of two gold nuggets.
