Get your local history fix when the historic Ballan Old Courthouse opens its doors, courtesy of the Ballan Shire Historical Society.

Society members will be on hand to talk about the history of the Courthouse, built in 1873, and will have on display items from their heritage paper-based collection.

There will be a guided Town Walk detailing the historic aspects of the Ballan’s main street commencing at 11am, and the Society will also hold a scanning session where visitors can have their old family photographs and documents scanned and saved in a digital format.

For the scanning session Society members ask that you phone Rick on 0413 512 293 for an appointment to avoid bottlenecks.

There is no entry fee on the day but a donation would be appreciated.
