Singer-songwriter Georgia Fields has kicked of her String Theory National Tour, including this show at the Mollongghip Hall.
In an exciting collision of worlds, Georgia is collaborating with a different string quartet in each city, over nine shows.
For this special show at Mollongghip Hall, she'll be joined by her long-time collaborators the Andromeda Quartet (led by celebrated chamber violinist Natasha Conrau). This is the same quartet who performed on Georgia's recent album Hiraeth, recorded by Mollongghip's own Josh Barber.
Together they will perform 'strings' of Georgia's own songs, plus a couple of strikingly reimagined covers. Georgia integrates live looping with extended techniques from the string players, blurring the lines between modern chamber music and playful art-pop.
This is a family-friendly event, with kids under-16 free. Food truck outside; drinks available at the bar inside.
