The Autumn Moorabool Landcare Festival is coming to the Ballan Library & Community Hub on Saturday 16 May.
Join us for a day focused on Planning and Revegetation – exploring how we can better manage our land and create healthier, more sustainable landscapes.
There is loads happening on the day. Moorabool Shire Council will be hosting their Annual Native Plant Giveaway in the Ballan Library courtyard. A wide range of community and conservation groups will also be in the library courtyard to pass on their knowledge and connect with community members.
Inside Ballan Library we have two keynote speakers, Helena Lindorff and Janine Duffy. Helena and Janine are experts in revegetation and property planning. You will leave these presentations with an understanding of how to more sustainably manage your property and how to undertake your own revegetation activities, large and small.
Rounding off the day is a field trip to the Ballan Primary School where attendees can see a native planting that was delivered collaboratively between the school and MCLG three years ago. Attendees will be able to see what a successful revegetation site can look like, the benefits it has to wildlife, and hear from the school about the positive impacts it has had on students.
We will also be inspecting the many wildlife nestboxes that were also installed on the school grounds with a pole camera to see what wildlife has made their homes in them and other citizen science activities for kids. A fantastic activity for families and children.
This festival will bring together the Moorabool community to share knowledge, build connections, and take action.
