OAK GROVE GALLERY – formerly The Ballan News Office est. 1872
The venue is currently home to a local artist who produces, displays and sells his stunning sea and land scape paintings. The artist is a passionate local who is keen to support his community. He has kindly allowed us permission to access areas of the venue normally off limits to the public for an exclusive paranormal exploration.
Located on the main street of Ballan, during the late 1800s, this building was once home to a journalist turned clergyman before being taken over by the Spencer family.
If the walls could talk, they’d echo the stories and scandals that gripped a rural community in a time when newspapers were a link to the outside world.
Are the Spencer family still making their presence felt? What do they want you to know about the tragic deaths that have befallen them in their home? Or, are there other families and stories waiting for an audience to bring them back to life?
Stepping into the parlour is like lifting a dark veil into a bygone time. You may hesitate at first but something is beckoning you to step forward. Something felt but not seen. Dimly lit by leadlight windows, heavy wooden floors that bring to life echoes from the past and authentic furnishings set the scene for your exploration.
Who is sitting by the ornate fireplace? Will faces emerge from the shadows? What are they trying to recount? Who is the older man and younger woman? There are secrets to be discovered…..
As part of the paranormal exploration, you will receive
a complimentary glass of local white wine.
the delights of a shared charcuterie board.
There will be a brief discussion about the history of the venue followed by an explanation and demonstration of the paranormal ghost hunting equipment that you will have exclusive use of.
You will participate old school and new methods of communicating with the departed under guidance from the hosts.
There will be a debrief and sage cleansing ritual at the conclusion of the exploration for those who wish to participate.
There are very limited tickets for this event and it is strictly for those over the age of 18.
