Shape-Note Singing Workshop at St Martin's Chapel, Blackwood

  • St Martin's Chapel Martin Street Blackwood, Victoria, 3458 Australia (map)

Discover the joy of singing in harmony at this free Shape-Note Singing Workshop at the beautiful St Martin's Chapel in Blackwood. Whether you're an experienced singer or have never sung in a choir before, everyone is welcome to come along and experience this unique and uplifting musical tradition.

Led by experienced facilitators Shawn and Nathalie, the workshop introduces participants to the centuries-old practice of shape-note singing, where distinctive note shapes make it easy to learn rich four-part harmonies. No music reading skills or previous singing experience are required—just bring your voice, your curiosity and a willingness to have fun. Following the success of the previous Blackwood workshop, organisers are looking forward to welcoming both returning and first-time participants for another enjoyable afternoon of music.

If you've ever wanted to experience the thrill of singing in harmony in a friendly and supportive environment, this is a wonderful opportunity to give it a try.

Sunday 23 August • 2pm – 3.30pm • St Martin's Chapel, Blackwood
