Support Apple 98.5 FM

For almost 40 years, Apple 98.5 FM has been a familiar voice across Bacchus Marsh and the wider Moorabool region, sharing local news, community stories, sporting coverage, events, music and much more. Now, the volunteer-run community radio station is facing one of its biggest challenges yet.

The station is seeking to raise $25,000 by 5 July to secure its future and avoid the possibility of permanently ending transmissions.

Known as the “Voice of the Valley”, Apple 98.5 FM has long played an important role in connecting the community. From broadcasting local sports and festivals to promoting community events, businesses, arts and culture, the station provides a platform for stories and voices that might otherwise go unheard.

Over the years, it has also helped train aspiring broadcasters, technicians and media personalities, giving countless local people the opportunity to gain valuable experience behind the microphone and behind the scenes.

Like many community organisations, Apple FM relies heavily on volunteers and community support to continue operating. With rising costs placing increasing pressure on the station, local residents are now being encouraged to get behind the fundraiser and help ensure this important community asset can continue serving the region for years to come.

Whether large or small, every donation will help support the future of community radio in Moorabool.

There is also a Rock n Roll Dance Fundraiser at Bacchus Marsh Public Hall on July 4.
