The Festival of Small Halls rolls into Ballan in March 2025, with Hat Fitz and Cara, and Lucy Farrell, supported by local act, Paper Cranes!
The Festival of Small Halls is a series of tours that takes the best folk and contemporary acoustic artists performing at two of our country’s largest festivals, and sends them on the road to tiny halls in communities all over Australia.
Don’t miss this chance to see UK singer/songwriter Lucy Farrell and Aussie roots duo Hat Fitz and Cara direct from the Port Fairy Folk Festival, in Ballan’s 1886 former Mechanics Institute.
Lucy Farrell
Odd, unconventional melodies, sophisticated song-writing and bewitching clarity; Kent-born, Canada-based Lucy Farrell’s voice is made elegant with sparse, careful accompaniment on tenor guitar and occasionally viola, carving out a unique niche for an artist at the forefront of contemporary English folk music.
Hat Fitz and Cara
High-energy duo Hat Fitz and Cara are among Australia’s most talented roots music artists. The husband and wife team have clocked up 14 years of worldwide touring, festival performances and album releases from their base of operations in the hinterland of South East Queensland’s Sunshine Coast and are showing no signs of slowing down.
